How to Use Search
In addition to searching the Vodafone Support Site using either a keyword or phrase there are also different techniques you can use to help refine your search and find the information that you're looking for.
Alternatively, you can use our 'Advanced Search' which again will help refine the results and assist you in finding the information you need.
Multiple search terms
Typing the words 'Vodafone Mobile Broadband' into the search box will look for information containing the word's 'Vodafone' and/or the word 'Mobile' and/or the word 'Broadband'.
To search for an exact phrase simply put speech marks: " " around the whole phrase
Example:
Search query: "Mobile Broadband"
The search function will only look for information containing the actual phrase 'Mobile Broadband'.
Include or exclude terms
Place a plus: + in front of the term if the results must contain that term.
Example:
Search query: "Vodafone" +Broadband
The words Vodafone might be included in the search results, but the word Broadband must occur in each result.
Place a minus: - or NOT in front of the term that should not be part of the search results.
Example:
Search query: "Via the Phone" -Mobile Broadband
The search results will return documents that contain information about Via the Phone but which do not include the phrase Mobile Broadband
Wildcard
Including * or ? allows the use of wildcards in the search query. The ? is for one letter and * is for multiple letters.
Example:
Search query: t?p
matches any of the words: tap, tip and top
Search query: financ*
Finds documents containing any word starting with the letters financ, such as financial, finance or financing.
