If you are upgrading from Windows 7 please uninstall the Vodafone Mobile Broadband software and install again after the upgrade.
When you upgrade it is suggested that you ‘Keep files and settings’
Some Mobile Broadband devices especially built in Mobile Broadband devices do not upgrade correctly, the best option is to go to the website of your PC supplier and check for new drivers.
When you do not have a Windows 7 Mobile Broadband device you will have to install the Vodafone Mobile Broadband or Vodafone Mobile Connect to get Windows 8 to recognise your device. As you install this from your device or download from our support portal you may be prompted to install .Net 3.5.1, this is required because the Vodafone software uses some capability that existed in previous versions of Windows that is not in the Windows 8. Please follow the instructions provided (you will need an internet connection). Please be aware this is a large download.
Any Windows 7 certified device should work with the Vodafone Account app however Vodafone cannot guarantee all the functions will operate correctly as these are not Vodafone devices.
If you are using a German SIM and installing Vodafone Mobile Broadband then you may have to disable the optimisation software as this is not yet compatible with Windows 8, you would do this on installation by performing a custom install and disabling the Optimisation software.
If the Vodafone software does not detect the device after the upgrade the best approach is to remove the stick and then re-insert.
